Comparing Tesla Model 3 Trims
The Tesla Model 3 is a stellar machine no matter which option you choose, but Tesla offers three different trims to keep in mind, along with Tesla’s Full Self-Driving Capability. Read on to learn more!
Tesla Model 3 Rear-Wheel-Drive
The Tesla Model 3 Rear-Wheel-Drive is the least expensive option at $46,990, yet it comes jam-packed with incredible features. Right off the bat, you’ll get a 15-inch touch screen display, navigation, Bluetooth and four USB ports. Wireless device charging allows you to charge up to two phones at the same time. Comfort features include a heated and 12-way power-adjustable seats.
Also included in the cost is Tesla’s Autopilot suite, and with that you’ll get a ton of driver assistance features that you usually have to pay extra for with most vehicles. These advanced features include the essentials like blind spot monitoring, forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking. There’s also 360-degree sensors, a surround-view parking camera and adaptive cruise control – that will steer and accelerate in a single lane.
And speaking of acceleration, you’ll get some pretty powerful acceleration thanks to the Model 3’s base electric motor that has a 272-mile range and a top speed of 140 mph. It can reach from 0 to 60 mph in just 5.8 seconds!
Tesla Model 3 Long Range
The Tesla Model 3 Long Range, as the name suggests, provides an even greater driving range, as well as a mildly improved top speed. With the Long range model, you can travel up to 358 miles before needing to recharge. It has a top speed of 145 mph and can travel from 0 to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds. on top of this, the Long Range is the first trim to provide a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system.
A couple of upgraded features that are included are a 14-speaker premium audio system and heated rear seats. Premium Connectivity, offered for 30 days in the base model, is upped to one year with the Long Range model. This gives you navigation, a W-Fi hotspot, and also music and video streaming.
Tesla Model 3 Performance
For the best performance, look no further than the performance model, of course. Starting at $53,990, the performance model can travel for 315 miles straight and has a top speed of 162 mph. It can travel from 0 to 60 mph in 3.1 seconds. Upgrades for this vehicle deal with performance and aesthetics – they are aluminum alloy pedals, a carbon-fiber spoiler, a lower suspension and performance-tuned brakes.
Tesla’s Full Self-Driving Capability
Tesla’s Full Self-Driving Capability is an add-on package that makes your Model 3 just a little more advanced. While it doesn’t make your car fully autonomous, it can change lanes, stop at red lights and stop signs, and even park without you. To get this package, however, be prepared to shell out another $15K.
