by Car Digest
March 11, 2024

The Model Y: Tesla’s answer to an SUV. Although technically a crossover, the 2023 Tesla Model Y is a compelling electric SUV with versatility, performance, and cutting-edge technology.

Tesla Model Y Trim Comparison

With three distinct trim levels, Base, Long Range, and Performance, Tesla caters to various preferences and budgets. Here, we’ll delve into the key differences between these trims to help you decide which one suits your needs best.

Base

Starting at $47,490, the base model of the 2023 Tesla Model Y offers some impressive features and capabilities. With a range of 279 miles and a top speed of 135 mph, the Model Y can travel from zero-to-60 in just 5 seconds.

Standard amenities include synthetic leather upholstery, heated front and rear seats, a heated steering wheel, and a 15-inch touch-screen infotainment system with navigation. Music lovers will especially appreciate the  14-speaker stereo, along with Bluetooth and HD Radio support. Other luxury features include a Wi-Fi hotspot, a panoramic glass roof, automatic climate control, and a power liftgate.

Additionally, you’ll find advanced driver-assistance features such as blind-spot monitoring, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, and adaptive cruise control – all to enhance safety and convenience.

Optional upgrades like Enhanced Autopilot further enhance your driving experience, making it a compelling choice for those seeking a well-equipped electric SUV. With Full Self-Driving Capability, you’ll get all the autonomous driving features the Model Y has to offer, but you’ll have to shell out another $15,000 to get them. Meanwhile, add-ons like third-row seating and tow hitch are available for $3,000 and $1,000, respectively.

Long Range

Priced at $50,490, the Tesla Model Y Long Range extends your driving range to 330 miles, offering even greater autonomy on the road. A slightly faster zero-to-60 time of 4.8 seconds provides a more spirited driving experience while retaining the same top speed of 135 mph. Like the Base Model, it comes standard with a comprehensive suite of features, including heated seats, advanced driver-assistance systems, and a premium infotainment system. The Long Range Model represents an excellent option for those prioritizing extended range without compromising on performance or comfort.

Boasting a range of 303 miles, a top speed of 155 mph, and a blistering zero-to-60 time of 3.5 seconds, it delivers exhilarating performance capabilities. In addition to its impressive acceleration, the Performance Model distinguishes itself with larger wheels, performance brakes, a lowered suspension, and aluminum pedals, further enhancing its sporty look.
