This year, Toyota introduced the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander – a bigger, badder, and roomier version of the Highlander. Offering solid performance and a long list of features we’ve come to expect from Toyota, it’s a fairly remarkable large SUV.
2024 Toyota Grand Highlander Trims
While not as luxurious as other models in its class, the Grand Highlander, nonetheless, proves itself as a competitor to the Grand Cherokee. Offering just three different trims this year, the debut 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander won’t overwhelm you with options. So, let’s take a look at each one!
XLE
The 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander starts at $43,070. It comes with a 265-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder engine and an eight-speed automatic transmission. But, it should be noted that this is the standard engine for all trims. You can opt for all-wheel drive for an additional $1,175.
The Grand Highlander boasts a range of standard features, including synthetic leather upholstery, heated front seats, a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, an eight-way power-adjustable passenger seat, and second-row sunshades. For seamless connectivity, the 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system offers wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration, along with satellite radio. Delivering high-quality audio through a six-speaker stereo, drivers, and passengers will be blown away with sound- in a good way. Other features include a Wi-Fi hotspot, seven USB ports, and wireless device charging.
When it comes to safety and driver assistance, the Grand Highlander leaves no room for compromise. Standard equipment includes forward collision warning, forward automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control. Furthermore, the vehicle is equipped with lane-driving assistance features like lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, and lane-tracing assist. Traffic sign recognition, automatic high-beam headlights, and a rearview camera ensure a more secure and confident driving experience.
Optional features available include a panoramic moonroof and a second-row bench seat. The three-row SUV provides seating for seven or up to eight with the optional bench seats. Passenger seats can be folded down to provide up to 97.5 cubic feet of cargo space.
Limited
Starting at $47,860, you’ll get genuine leather seats, ventilated front seats, second-row heated seats, and driver’s seat memory settings. The steering wheel is heated, and leather-wrapped, and there’s ambient interior lighting, which adds another welcome touch of luxury. Upgrades with this trim, include a standard 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and 11-speaker JBL premium audio system.
The Limited trim also gains two household-style power outlets, a hands-free liftgate and rain-sensing windshield wipers. As for driver’s assistance, there are front and rear parking sensors to help you in trick spots.
Like the XLE trim, you can opt for second-row bench seats. Unique to this trim level, you can add a surround-view camera system.
Platinum
If you want the most comprehensive Grand Highlander experience, the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander Platinum trim gives you the whole enchilada. Starting at $53,545, the top-of-the-line trim comes standard with the surround-view parking camera. Further, it adds a rear camera mirror, traffic jam assist, and a heads up display. The second-row seats upgrade to ventilated versions, which your passengers will appreciate in the summer months. And on top of that, you’ll get a panoramic roof.
The Platinum trim even elevates the driver experience with hill descent control, a multi-terrain select driving mode and paddle shifters.
However, unlike the first two trims, the Platinum only comes with all-wheel drive. For those concerned about fuel economy, you should know the all-wheel drive version gets 20 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway, whereas the front-wheel driver version gets 21 and 28 mpg, respectively.
