2024 Toyota Crown: A Trim Comparison

by Car Digest
December 21, 2023

The 2024 Toyota Crown returns. Having replaced the Toyota Avalon in 2023, the Crown offers a powerful engine and premium features, albeit at a premium price, too. So, if you are looking for a luxury style, features, and performance, it’s easily the cream of the crop.

Toyota Crown Trims

The 2024 Toyota Crown is offered in three different trims. The base model is the XLE, which offers many standard features, but you can also opt for the more luxurious Limited and Platinum trims. Comparatively, the new Crown remains unchanged from last year.

2023 Toyota Crown

XLE

The Toyota Crown XLE starts at $40,050. The XLE includes a mix of synthetic leather and cloth upholstery that certainly looks luxurious and feels luxurious too, especially with the additions of synthetic leather upholstery, a heated steering wheel and heated front seats. Side mirrors are power-folding, the driver’s seat is power-adjustable and the rearview mirror dims automatically as well.

The infotainment system features a 12.3-inch touchscreen and a six-speaker stereo. Apple CarPlay and Android auto connect wirelessly, plus you can connect multiple devices to the five USB ports throughout the cabin. Listen to satellite radio on a stellar six-speaker audio system and monitor your vehicle with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. In the way of convenience, there’s dual-zone automatic climate control, keyless entry and a push-button start ignition.

Safety features are plentiful as well. Toyota rarely holds back when it comes to safety and that’s especially true for the Toyota Crown. The Crown features a rearview camera, forward automatic emergency braking and forward collision warning, along with pedestrian detection. Lane assisting features include lane-keep assist and lane departure warning. Blindspot, monitoring, traffic sign recognition and rear cross traffic alert come standard as well.

Limited

The Limited trim starts at $45,650. It includes genuine leather upholstery, heated rear seats, ventilated front seats, and a heated steering wheel. On top of that, the stereo is upgraded to an 11-speaker JBL system.

Further, Toyota adds a panoramic sunroof, allowing some natural light to enter the cabin. Plus, front and rear parking sensors, and rain-sensing wipers come included.

For an additional $2,950, you can opt in for the Advanced tech package that adds a surround-view camera system and digital key, on top of upgraded 21-inch alloy wheels.

Platinum

The Platinum trim gives you everything in the Limited trim plus a turbocharged hybrid powertrain, starting at $53,070. The trim gains a digital key, steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters, and 21-inch alloy wheels. As for driver assistance features, it gains a surround-view camera system and park assist.

Performance

The vehicle’s base powertrain is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with two electric motors, included with the XLE and Limited trim. It generates an impressive 236 horsepower and is paired with a CVT transmission. On top of that, all-wheel-drive comes standard as well.

2023 toyota crown

The optional turbocharged hybrid system features a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine and two electric motors paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. This version generates a whopping 340 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. This powertrain is only available with the Platinum trim.

If you are looking for the most fuel-efficient option, it should come as little surprise that the less-powerful Toyota Crown XLE and Limited deliver the best results, giving you about 42 mpg in the city and 41 mpg on the highway.
