2021 Chevrolet Traverse: A Trim Comparison

by Car Digest
June 5, 2023

The 2021 Chevy Traverse is mid-size SUV with families designed in mind. The vehicle offers powerful performance over its competitors along with intuitive features. While there are no major improvements for the 2021 year, the new Traverse certainly has plenty to offer.

Choosing a Traverse Trim

The 2021 Chevy Traverse is available in six different trim levels, offering something for everyone, no matter what your family’s needs. Read on to learn just what each trim level can provide for you.

L

The Chevy Traverse L is the first trim in the lineup with a starting MSRP of $29,800. While many SUVs pack a weaker four-cylinder engine, the Traverse L comes standard with a 310-horsepower V6 engine and a nine-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, however, and there’s no option for all-wheel-drive at this level.

In the way of features, you won’t be too disappointed, given the price. Off the bat, you’ll get tri-zone climate control and an infotainment 3 system that includes a 7-inch touchscreen display, Bluetooth, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and a Wi-Fi hotspot. Six USB ports are spread throughout the vehicle. A rearview camera and teen driver safety system are included as well.

LS

Starting at $32,900, the LS has many of the same features from the base L trim, but you can add options like rear seat entertainment, as well as some styling packages. Moreover, it’s the first trim to offer all-wheel-drive for an additional $2,000.

LT

The second trim level is the LS and it also offers all-wheel-drive. The cloth variant of this trim starts at $35,400, or $39,200 if you want all-wheel-drive. A leather variant is available starting at $39,100 for front-wheel-drive or $41,100 for all-wheel-drive.

This trim provides several interior upgrades. For one, you’ll get an 8-inch touchscreen with satellite radio. The driver’s seat features power-adjustable settings and there are second-row captain’s chairs. In the way of safety features, you’ll get blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, and rear parking sensors. Have easy access to your cargo area with a power tailgate.

RS

The Traverse RS has a starting price of around $43,600. The all-wheel-drive model starts at $45,700. This trim comes with all the previous standard features in the leather LT model. However, it also adds navigation, a 10-speaker Bose audio system and a surround-view parking camera. On top of this, it features a rear camera mirror.

Premier

Starting at $45,800, the Premier trim comes with leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, heated second-row rear seats and a heated steering wheel. Wireless device charging is also included. Purchase the all-wheel-drive model for $48,400.

High Country

Last, but not least, is the High Country which starts at about $50,900 for front-wheel-drive or $53,200 for all-wheel-drive. This model comes loaded with all the tech features you could want including adaptive cruise control and power-folding third-row seats. This is the ideal trim if you are looking to do some towing as you’ll get all the necessary trailering equipment. Don’t expect a more powerful engine, however, as the model features the same engine in the previous trims.
