The 2023 Honda Pilot is revamped this year thanks to an all-new redesign. That being said, the Pilot remains a great all-around vehicle with lots of space and even the ability to go off-road
Comparing Honda Pilot Trims
These are six possible trims with the Honda Pilot, but they’re not all made the same. It’s more than just better features; this in-depth guide can help you determine what makes them different.
LX
The LX trim is the latest addition to the Honda Pilot and the base model in the line-up, starting at around $35K. It comes equipped with cloth upholstery, manually adjustable seats, as well as second and third row bench seats, accommodating up to eight people. There’s a 7-inch touch screen and a 7-inch digital gauge cluster with an analog speedometer.
Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth and four USB ports are integrated for connecting all your favorite electronic devices. Listen to music on a seven-speaker stereo and stay comfortable with dual-zone climate control. Ambient lighting and proximity keyless entry are also standard.
Safety feature inclusions are plentiful, starting with the industry standard rear-view camera, and features like rear seat alert and automatic high beams (LED). Driver assistance features included with this trim are forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane keeping assist, lane departure warning and traffic sign recognition. Plus, highway traveling has never been easier than with adaptive cruise control.
Sport
The 2023 Honda Pilot Sport starts at $39,150. That gets you a 2WD SUV with a 3.5L V6 engine and a nine-speed automatic transmission. It’s capable of 285 hp and 262 lb-ft. of torque, and can tow 3500 pounds when properly equipped. As for fuel economy, it gets around 19 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway. If you want to spring for an all-wheel-drive version, you’ll pay about $2,000 more, gain the ability to tow 5,000 pounds and drop the mpg down to 18 city/26 highway.
The Sport may be the least expensive option, but it comes with a host of great standard features inside and out. Some of the best additions include heated and power-adjustable front seats, blind-spot monitoring, rear-cross traffic alert, and fog lights. This model sits on 20-inch wheels.
EX-L
The 2023 Honda Pilot EX-L starts at $41,950 for front-wheel-drive and $44,050 for all-wheel-drive. It has some great features that are lacking in the Pilot Sport. Some of the best features that come standard with the Pilot EX-L are leather upholstery and tri-zone climate control for added luxury.
The infotainment system is upgraded with a 9-inch display, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Listen to music on HD radio or satellite radio, utilizing the Pilot EX-L’s nine-speaker stereo. Convenience features include two additional USB ports, rear sunshades, a power liftgate, and CabinTalk – the vehicle’s intercom system. For added safety, the Pilot EX-L features rear parking sensors.
TrailSport
The TrailSport starts at $48,350, and like the name sounds, it’s designed for the trail. It offers a higher ride height, skid-plates, special all-terrain tires and unique styling – inside and out. Additionally, it comes equipped with a panoramic moonroof and a heated steering wheel. There are second-row captain’s chairs in this trim, which reduces the number of passengers by one, but provides more comfortable seating for the adults in the car.
Touring
The 2023 Honda Pilot Touring starts at $46,450 and represents some pretty big upgrades for the Honda Pilot. Among the addedfeatures provided with this trim are a panoramic moonroof, a hands-free liftgate and second-row bench seating with a removable mid-section that can be stowed under the vehicle floor. The vehicle upgrades the stereo to a 12-speaker system, and gives you both integrated navigation and a Wi-Fi hotspot.
Elite
The 2023 Honda Pilot Elite is the best the brand offers and starts at $52,030. The Pilot Elite comes with standard all-wheel drive. This trim offers everything included with the touring model, as well as a few upgrades and extras. Front seats are ventilated and second-row seats have heating. The steering wheel is also heated and the vehicle is equipped with a 120-volt outlet.
Drivers will have access to a surround-view parking camera, a heads-up display, and a 10.2-inch digital gauge cluster. Windshield wipers are rain-sensing and turn on as needed.
