The 2023 Hyundai Kona SE is the base trim with a starting price of $21,990. With this model, you’ll get a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that generates 147 horsepower and is paired with a continuously variable transmission. The base engine offers less horsepower but makes up for it with better fuel economy estimates. It gets 27 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway.
As for features, you’ll get a 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, along with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, three USB ports and a six-speaker audio system. Driver assistance safety features include a rearview camera, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, driver drowsiness monitoring, pedestrian detection and lane keep assist.
The SEL starts at $23,800. This model adds a proximity key for keyless entry, a push-button ignition, eight-way power adjustable driver’s seat, heated outside mirrors, and a few more convenience features you’ll love like Hyundai’s Blue Link telematics system. Additionally, the SEL includes HD radio and satellite radio, which you won’t get with the base model.
The N-Line starts at $27,700. The main difference between this trim and the others mentioned above are the unique sports styling elements and the upgraded engine. The 175-horsepower turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
This trim adds features like navigation, a 10.25-inch touch display, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, voice recognition, wireless device charging and Hyundai’s Digital Key. Other features included are a leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated front seats, a sunroof, and automatic climate control.
Want leather seats? The Limited, starting at $28,800 provides all of the N-Line gains plus a whole lot more. Included with this trim are leather seats, an eight-speaker premium audio system, and interior ambient LED lighting. On top of this, you’ll get full LED headlights, high-beam assist, rear parking sensors, lane-centering assist, and adaptive cruise control.
Last but certainly not least is the brand-new N trim for $34,700. This trim features a whopping 276-horsepower turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Seats are upgraded with a combination of suede and leather upholstery. The N trim also offers unique design style elements, sports-tuned suspension, a sport exhaust system and paddle-shifters.
