2024 Hyundai Kona: A Trim Comparison

by Car Digest
April 17, 2024

The fully-redesigned Hyundai Kona makes its way with four different trim levels! Offering a spacious cabin, more features, and a satisfying fuel economy, the Hyundai Kona is a smart choice for families.

2024 Hyundai Kona Trims

The 2024 Hyundai Kona comes in four different trims with upgraded features and powerful engine options. If you are looking for the best SUV for your needs, check out this helpful guide!

SE

The 2024 Hyundai Kona SE starts at $24,100. With this model, you’ll get a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that generates 147 horsepower and is paired with a continuously variable transmission. While the base engine offers less horsepower, it makes up for it with better fuel economy estimates. It gets 29 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway.

As for features, the base model comes with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Along with that, HD radio, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, four USB ports and a six-speaker audio system come standard as well. Kona drivers will now get an additional 4.2-inch driver information display. Other features now standard with the base trim include remote and proximity keyless entry, a push-button start ignition, and remote start.

Driver assistance safety features include a rearview camera, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, forward automatic emergency braking, driver drowsiness monitoring, pedestrian detection and lane keep assist.

SEL

The SEL starts at $24,450. This second-level trim gains 18-inch wheels and roof rails.  The cabin features dual-zone automatic climate control. There’s also a leather-wrapped steering wheel, an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, and a leather shift knob. The engine remains the same as the base trim.

A Convenience package for $2,200 gives you a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, heated front seats, wireless device charging, navigation and a Wi-Fi hot spot. Safety features include adaptive cruise control, highway driving assist, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. Lastly, you’ll get paddle shifters.

N-Line

The N-Line starts at $30,650. The main differences between this trim and the others mentioned above are the unique sports styling elements and the upgraded engine. First available at the N-Line level trim, a 175-horsepower turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine and eight-speed automatic transmission come standard.

This trim adds features like 19-inch wheels, environmentally-friendly synthetic leather upholstery, and an eight-speaker Bose audio system. The features included with the Convenience package are included too.

Limited

The Hyundai Kona Limited, starting at $31,650, provides all of the N-Line gains plus a whole lot more. The Limited trim features a hands-free power liftgate and a universal garage door opener for your convenience. The synthetic leather upholstery, heated steering wheel, and ventilated front seats add exceptional comfort. Meanwhile, the surround-view camera system and blind-spot view monitor make navigating tricky areas easier than ever.

In addition to the powertrain options mentioned above, the SE, SEL and Limited trims will all offer an electric version. The entry-level trim will feature a 133-horsepower electric motor with a range of about 200 miles. However, a more powerful 201-horsepower version has a range of about 260 miles, making it a worthy rival among other electric SUVs on the market.
